The support you need—right where you need it.
Mid hangers are designed to provide additional support for longer spans, helping prevent sag and keeping everything straight and solid over time.
Let's take a look at what kind of sag you can expect with our round rods. We tested them under real-world conditions—here are the results.
- 4' span → 63 lbs → 1/16" sag
- 5' span → 79 lbs → 1/8" sag
- 6' span → 95 lbs → 1/2" sag
As you can see, a mid support is usually called for at around 6 feet—and even sooner for heavily loaded closets.
Solid cast construction—not stamped shortcuts.
These are cast as a single piece—not stamped out of thin sheet metal or assembled from multiple parts like some lower-cost alternatives.
Casting creates a denser, more substantial part with cleaner lines and smoother edges. The Desunia logo is embossed directly into the hanger, so you know you're getting the real thing—not a generic lookalike.
Designed to work as part of a complete system.
These mid hangers are made to pair perfectly with our round end brackets—same profile, same dimensions, same overall look.
The result is a consistent installation from end to end, without mismatched components or awkward transitions.
A finish that actually holds up.
A great satin brass finish starts with a properly prepared surface.
Before plating, we take the extra step to smooth and refine each piece through a multi-step process to create a consistent base. After plating, the satin effect is applied by hand using a specialized abrasive process to achieve a soft, uniform brushed appearance.
The result is a rich, warm finish that holds up to everyday use—and matches our rods and other components so everything looks like it belongs together.
Installation with wall brackets.
- Install both wall brackets first, mounting them the same distance below the shelf as the mid support
- Slide the mid hanger onto the rod
- Install the rod onto the end brackets (you may need to flex it slightly)
- Slide the mid hanger into position and secure it with the provided screws
Installation with end brackets.
- Install the first end bracket
- Slide the mid hanger onto the rod
- Place the second end bracket onto the rod and install it
- Slide the mid hanger into position and secure it with the provided screws
Here's what you get…
- 1 satin brass round closet rod mid hanger
- Matching mounting screws (two lengths: 3/4" and 1 3/16")
Round Rod Specs
What diameter is the rod?
32mm, which is just under 1-5/16". The wall of the tube is a sturdy 1mm thick.
How much weight can it handle?
In our own real-world testing: a 4' span held 63 lbs with 1/16" of sag, a 5' span held 79 lbs with 1/8" of sag, and a 6' span held 95 lbs with 1/2" of sag.
Will I need a center support?
Up to about 5' the rod is very solid on its own. Around 6' you may see slight sag under heavy loads, so we recommend a center support for longer, fully loaded spans.
How does this compare to a telescoping rod?
Telescoping rods use thinner overlapping tubes, so they flex more and hold less. They also have a bump in the middle where the tubes overlap, which catches hangers. Ours is one solid piece of steel: stronger and cleaner looking.
Is a round rod stronger than an oval rod?
Yes. A round rod spreads the load more evenly, so it deflects less under weight.
